There was already a "planning for the year" meeting scheduled with our BB PTO officers. I floated the idea of STEM education generally and PLTW specifically. "Would you want your kids to be educated this way?" "Would you feel good about supporting this financially?" We talked openly about these seeds and what they could produce. And I had to talk openly about the cost. PLTW is not cheap. Tech, training, apps, yearly fees, modules, replenishing modules, etc....
BB is not a TITLE school. We sometimes joke that we are too rich to be poor and too poor to be rich. We rely heavily on fundraisers conducted by our PTO.
And a little shout-out there: BB has, and has for years had, an AWESOME PTO and parent/community base. Not every school or community can claim the same. Parents who seek the best for their children are a DIFFERENCE MAKER! BB has that!
